The Aims of the workshop  :  The therapeutic dyad becomes central to the EMDR process as during the ‘dance’ we navigate the delicate waters between past and present, self and other, therapist and client whilst developing a new adaptive relational template for the future.   This workshop day will be a practical learning event to refresh and refine our theoretical knowledge and clinical practice of EMDR therapy.     The art of perfecting the EMDR ‘dance’ between therapist and client to ensure the best therapeutic outcome will be explored in detail.     100% EMDR content.

Learning outcomes :

·To identify and develop EMDR therapeutic attunement skills

·Identify and work with specific psychological defences such as avoidance, idealisation and shame during processing

·Effectively apply resourcing and other interventions with highly vulnerable clients before commencing EMDR processing

·Effectively apply interweave strategies to facilitate processing effects

·To apply specific clinical interweaves to address fears and blocking beliefs that lead to an impasse in the EMDR dance between therapist and client

Learn how to apply clinical interweaves to navigate moment-to-moment processing demands, address developmental deficits and facilitate repair.
